Founder and Director
Emily Fox Kales, Ph.D. founded the Feeding
Ourselves program in 1975. As a clinical psychologist, she
has treated individuals with eating disorders, body disturbances,
and weight problems for over thirty years. Her research on dieting
and binge eating has been published in many professional journals,
including Obesity & Metabolism, Appetite, Physiology &
Behavior, as well as in papers delivered at the International
Conferences of Eating Disorders both in the U.S. and England. Dr.
Fox-Kales has also appeared in national media, including The
New York Times, Psychology Today, Prevention, Glamour, and Shape
magazines, as well as on numerous television and radio shows.
Dr. Fox-Kales has served as consultant to the
Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Faulkner Hospital, and the Weight
Management Clinic at North Shore Hospital. She is on the Attending Psychology
Staff at McLean Hospital, and is Instructor in Psychology in the Department of
Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Fox-Kales is also on the faculty of
Northeastern University, where she teaches courses in human feeding behavior and
directs a campus education and intervention program for eating disorders.
Alice J. Rosen, MSEd, LMHC, Director of
Education for Feeding Ourselves, is a psychotherapist and educator
specializing in body awareness. She has been with Feeding Ourselves
since 1981. Her private practice, which spans twenty years of concentration
in this field, is located in Concord and Boston, MA. Her publication
credits include her column, "BODY INTELLIGENCE REPORT"
which appeared for three years in the journal-letter, FOOD ISSUES.
Alice has published many pieces on the topic of media and body image,
and has also been profiled in Shape Magazine. Mindfulness Meditation
is a key reference point for Alice's teaching, as is her training
in Expressive Therapies, stress management, cognitive-behavioral
therapy, and Women's Group Process. The Conscious Café a group
opportunity to eat and enjoy food mindfully, stems from her personal
understanding and experience that awareness is a healing factor.
Alice authored and recorded "The Feeding Ourselves Method"
CD set - an interactive support tool to change one's relationship

Robyn Vogel, MA, MS, CNS (Certified Nutrition
Specialist), Certified Breathworker, has Master’s Degrees
in Nutrition and Clinical Mental Health Counseling.She has
14 years experience working with adults, children and groups.Robyn’s
yoga,meditation and holistic health practice inform her work. Robyn
has a private practice in Lexington where she offers a well-balanced
approach to healing using expressive therapy, breath work, Reiki
and psychotherapy.
Elizabeth Corea has master's degrees in Counseling
Psychology and Communications and a certificate in Alternative Dispute
Resolution. In addition to leading groups one and two for Feeding Ourselves,
she teaches communication skills at Framingham State College. In her courses
she explores with students the representation of men and women in the
media. Currently, she is working on new curriculum for a workshop series
on using assertivenss skills to honor and protect boundaries.
Asha Kasaraneni, MS, RD, LDN, CNSD
(Certified Nutrition Specialist) joined Feeding Ourselves in 2003
as an intern. She comes from England where she was trained as a
nutritionist. She dedicates her energy in working towards prevention
and treatment of eating disorders. She works for Massachusetts Eating
Disorders Association, where she gives presentations at high schools
and colleges. She co-leads groups 1 and 2 and currently taking classes
at Simmons College, Boston.
Eileen
Stack, M.S., M.Ed. holds degrees in criminal justice and counseling
from Northeastern University, where she served in Finance and Benefits
Administration before coming to Feeding Ourselves four years ago.
Nancy-Jo Cardillo, A.D.T.R.,LMHC, is a movement therapist at the Language
and Cognitive Development Center. She is also an Adjunct Faculty member
at Lesley College's Creative Arts in Learning and Expressive Therapies
graduate programs. Nancy-Jo joined the staff in 1985
Ginny Loeb, M.A. Since 1981, Ginny has
served in numerous roles as a staff member of Feeding Ourselves.
She has led Groups I, II, and a long term therapy group for alumnae.
From 1982 to 1985, she served as assistant director, helping to
publicize Feeding Ourselves and through the media, to educate the
public about the field of eating disorders and our non-diet approach.
Ginny serves on the board of the Crittenton Hastings House, a multi-service
agency for pregnant teenagers and their children. Ginny also has
a private counseling practice focusing primarily on eating disorders
and related issues.
